Hey I'm Dan, a Salt Lake City weekend warrior and dry needling enthusiast. I've found that trigger point dry needling is the most effective treatment for my aches and pains, muscle stiffness, and soreness. I sit at a computer all day for work and also use it to relieve knots and muscle pain in my back.
After getting treated a ton of different dry needling clinics in Salt Lake City, Murray, and Park City, I've realized that not all dry needling practitioners are the same.
I decided to make this Dry Needling review site to help other people who might be searching for dry needling in Salt Lake City.
Here are my top five clinics.
Pinyon Physical Therapy is far and away the best PT and Dry Needling clinic I've been to in Salt Lake. Anna and Sarah are both needle magicians. Pinyon emphasizes holistic treatment, and I learned so much about the way my body reacts/processes pain. Pinyon does not accept insurance, but they give me a superbill and my insurance reimburses me for out-of-network. With Pinyon, I've found that I needed far fewer visits to see results. They also specialize in sports therapy, strength and conditioning, and chronic pain management including for sciatica.
Rogue Rehab and Performance offers a high level of care and expertise in dry needling. Their personalized approach ensures that each patient receives the specific attention they need. The staff are skilled and dedicated, making every visit a productive one. While the practice does not accept insurance, they provide detailed receipts for reimbursement. Rogue Rehab excels in sports rehabilitation, injury prevention, and overall performance enhancement. The facilities are top-notch, and the team's commitment to patient care is evident in every session.
Craft Physical Therapy does a good job with dry needling and takes a well-rounded approach to healing and injury prevention. Their therapists know their stuff, and the clinic is nice and up-to-date. That said, I sometimes felt like I was getting a one-size-fits-all treatment, especially compared to my experiences at top-ranked places. They're not the go-to spot for sports injuries, and some of their fancier treatments can be a bit pricey. On the plus side, they're great at explaining what they're doing and why, which I found really helpful. All in all, they're a solid choice if you need general PT work done.
Canyon Sports Therapy is a decent option for dry needling in Salt Lake City. The staff are friendly and the environment is comfortable, which I appreciate. However, I found their therapists to be less experienced compared to my top picks and they don't use e-stim, which makes the whole thing more painful. They're good in a pinch, but if you're looking for advanced treatments or have complex issues, you might want to look elsewhere. Canyon could be a solid choice. They get the job done.
I've got to be honest, my experience with Mountain Land Physical Therapy wasn't great. Their dry needling technique seemed off to me. They left the needles in for 5 minutes with e-stim, which felt weird and uncomfortable. I've never had it done that way before, and it didn't seem to help much. The biggest issue for me was that they treated me in a room with a bunch of other people. Talk about awkward! I felt really self-conscious lying there with needles sticking out of me while others were doing their exercises nearby. On the plus side, it's affordable and the staff are friendly, but that's about it. The facilities are pretty basic, and you might have to wait a while for an appointment. If you're looking for top-notch dry needling in Salt Lake, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. Mountain Land might be okay for super basic PT needs, but for dry needling, it's definitely not my go-to spot.
